On November 13, 2024, Mactan EnerZone (MEZ) Corporation, in partnership with Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI), proudly turned over the newly rehabilitated water system at Algeria Elementary School in Cordova, Cebu City. This initiative reflects our commitment to providing essential facilities that foster a healthier and more supportive environment for students and teachers.
The event, led by Mactan EnerZone, was joined by School Principal Mrs. Era Mabras, who expressed her heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the school community. In her acceptance message, Mrs. Mabras shared how vital this project is, noting, "Without the help of Mactan EnerZone and Aboitiz Foundation, we would still be struggling to bring water into our school, with students and teachers having to gather water from outside. This newly rehabilitated water system is truly a blessing for us all."

Representing Mactan EnerZone were Engr. Justin Jay Navarro, AVP for Customer Service and General Office of the EnerZone Group; Engr. Reymund Villar, Operations Manager of Mactan EnerZone; Jeff Figuerrez, Marketing and Communication Supervisor of the EnerZone Group; Francis Asesi, Mactan EnerZone Operations Supervisor; and other dedicated employees.

In his remarks, Engr. Villar emphasized the importance of accessible water in supporting health, learning, and growth. "Water is essential—not only for health but also as a foundation for students to thrive. By restoring this water system, we are advancing our commitment to empowering the evolution of our communities, starting with providing something as fundamental as clean water access, which every student deserves."
We thank everyone who helped make this project possible. Together, we’re empowering Algeria Elementary School with resources that support the bright futures of its students.
