Taod-taod na nga problema sa Maribago High School ang kakulang sa limpyo nga tubig. The daily struggle for clean, running water is now a thing of the past for the students and faculty of Maribago High School (MHS) in Lapu-Lapu City, following the successful turnover of a newly rehabilitated and upgraded water system on October 20, 2025.

The turnover ceremony marked the start of a renewed commitment to student well-being, signifying more than just project completion. In attendance were representatives from Mactan EnerZone Corporation (MEZ), Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI), barangay officials from the Education Committee, and the MHS faculty and staff.
This vital community initiative, which shows how EnerZone goes beyond electricity as a dedicated partner in community development, was made possible through the collaboration between MEZ and AFI.

During Brigada Eskwela, the school faculty faced a challenge: low water pressure due to a faulty pump, which disrupted daily routines and sanitation. To address this, MEZ and AFI stepped in. Recognizing that clean water is vital for student health and learning, they rehabilitated the school's deep well and upgraded the piping system. This ensured a consistent and dependable water supply throughout the campus.
During the event, Engr. Reymund Villar, the Operations Manager from Mactan EnerZone Corporation, underscored the importance of long-term sustainability, emphasizing that the school community is now a partner in maintaining the facility.

“In celebrating this activity, the teachers and students must also recognize the responsibility to maintain this rehabilitated water system,” Engr. Villar stated. “Let this project serve as inspiration to us all and demonstrate that we can achieve everything and work together to achieve one common goal. Let’s continue to collaborate, innovate, and invest in the future of the children and the community.”
The project's long-term goal is to empower the community to sustain the benefits of the upgrade for future generations of students.
Maribago High School's water system rehabilitation, a collaboration between MEZ and AFI, ensures a clean, safe learning environment, resolving daily water challenges. This initiative highlights the commitment to sustainable communities and EnerZone's dedication to community development beyond electricity.
