Subic EnerZone, showcasing its dedication to consumer education and environmental sustainability, successfully led a virtual seminar on energy awareness to an audience of over 100 participants on April 24.

As the invited key speaker and partner for SBMA-Ecology's week-long Earth Day celebration, Subic EnerZone spearheaded the highly attended online discussion via Google Meet. Engr. Jerry James Villarva, Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES) Manager for EnerZones, represented the company and served as the primary resource speaker for the event.

To help consumers make environmentally conscious decisions, Subic EnerZone focused on first educating the public on how electricity works. Engr. Villarva provided an accessible breakdown of the kilowatt-hour (kWh), helping attendees visualize their actual daily power consumption.

Furthermore, he delivered a transparent overview of the region's power systems. By explaining the journey of electricity from the power plant to the consumer, Engr. Villarva gave the attendees a clear picture of the current energy mix. He detailed the specific percentages of where our power originates, outlining the balance between traditional fossil fuels like coal and the integration of renewable energy sources.

Subic EnerZone’s primary goal for the seminar was actionable education. Moving beyond technical definitions, the discussion heavily emphasized practical energy management. By leading this Earth Day initiative in collaboration with SBMA-Ecology, Subic EnerZone reinforces its dedication to not just providing power, but ensuring it is used responsibly.

The company continues to empower the Subic Bay community with the knowledge needed to conserve energy, proving that sustainable change begins with understanding exactly what happens when we flip the switch.
